This book signing will be held at Hayner Library in the Alton Square Mall.
October 16 is National Disability Day and in recognition of the many accomplishments of people with disabilities, Hayner will sponsor a book signing featuring the poetry of Marlin D. Thomas as compiled by his mother, Cynthia A. Campbell. This volume of poetry, published posthumously, is entitled “Special Ed is Down the Hall.” Marlin was a talented and artistic young man who chronicled in poetry his life dealing with disabilities in poetry. Marlin died in October 2005, but not before forging great advancements in national programs and organizations to allow disabled people to live as independently as possible; not to be forced by environmental, economic or governmental constraints to live lives dependent on others. His mother will have copies of the book available for purchase and will be signing the books.
