The holidays are fast approaching. It is time to dust off last year’s tinsel and put out the welcome mat. Family gatherings are an important part of the holidays for many families. It is also a time to gather friends and family around the table or tree and talk of those fond (and some not-so-fond) remembrances of the past. If you have ever wanted to start your genealogy, now is the perfect time to begin! Take some time this holiday to ask questions and start gathering your family history stories while you have all those folks gathered in one spot. Ask other family members to join you in this project, and make a promise to share what you find at the next holiday gathering. It is a way of keeping the family close throughout the whole year.
