Sarah held a sock hop for her tenth birthday, January 22, 2010, asking in lieu of gifts for donations to the Make a Wish Foundation in memory of her best friend’s little brother, who passed away two years ago of cancer. She raised $553 for the organization, of which $32 was part of her own money she received for Christmas. She also donated some of her own money to the Red Cross for the Haiti earthquake victims. Sarah is always generous with money she receives to help others. She also enjoys volunteering for her church.
Julia-May, Lydia, and Emma heard about the earthquake and devastation in Haiti and decided they wanted to help. Their idea was to raise money through the school to assist the victims.
