Bringing in the Arts Interactive Traveling Exhibit Coming to Hayner Public Library

Bringing in the Arts is a fun set of portable and interactive exhibits designed to broaden children’s understanding and excite their appreciation of the arts.  The Hayner Public Library KidsSpace at Alton Square will borrow two exhibits, “Music and Dance” and “Arts and Crafts” from the Glen Carbon Public Library March 1–15. The exhibits will be on display during story times and at specific times during the week. The Glen Carbon Public Library was awarded a grant for this exhibit by the Illinois State Library, Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using federal LSTA funding.

Hayner Public Library will be hosting a story time once per month in the new Eagles Nest located on the upper level across from the food court. This story time is exclusively for the little ones ages 2–5 years old. This 30-minute story time includes themed stories, songs, finger plays, and manipulative.  Meeting dates are Wednesday, March 17; Wednesday,  April 21; and Wednesday,  May 19, 2010, at 11 a.m.  No registration required!

Come join us in the KidsSpace at the Hayner Alton Square Library for Stories with Hector. Hector Lozano, from the Hayner Downtown Library, will be assisting us for this special 45-minute story time. A lively combination of books, finger plays, and songs in both English and Spanish, it is especially for preschool children ages 3–5.
