James Charles
An altercation between two students at Alton High School required security to be involved. One of the security officers lost his watch while helping with the dispute. There were many students around, and James found William’s watch and turned it in to the office staff.

Teen Tech Week (March 8 – 13)
Come join us on Saturday, March 13, for our digital scavenger hunt. Players are set loose in the mall and the library to find items or complete certain tasks from a list. Points are given for each item on the list. The first team that finishes its list, makes it back within the time limit, and has the most points wins. Please bring your own camera or camera phone. The Riverbender.com Community Center will be a 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art entertainment and educational facility located on Third Street in downtown Alton, Ill. The facility will be primarily geared for students grades 7–12; however, there will be events and educational opportunities for people of all ages. Mission: Recognition is an initiative sponsored by The Hayner Public Library District to reinforce positive behavior in the young people of our community. The program recognizes kids up to 18 years of age for acts of good value judgment, a high standard of character and positive community impact.
