Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Library Volunteer

The Hayner Public Library District is a tremendous asset to the community and surrounding area. It is also a wonderful place to make your contribution as a library volunteer. Whether you volunteer weekly, monthly, or for special projects, we welcome your time and talents.

As a valued member of the volunteer team, you will play an essential role as a partner in the library’s mission of “providing resources to lifelong learners.” You will enjoy knowing that you are contributing your time to one of Illinois’s best public libraries.

We offer various volunteer opportunities at all three Hayner Library locations.

How to Volunteer

Click here to download our volunteer application. Volunteer applications are also available at the Circulation and Reference desks at all three Hayner Library locations. Please complete this form and return it to the library. A one-week minimum is required to process your application so that the library can fit your interests, experience, and availability for the needed jobs. The library schedules volunteer hours in advance; “drop-in” volunteering is unavailable.

Make a Donation

The Hayner Public Library District is a dynamic community resource dedicated to serving the residents of Alton, Godfrey, and Foster Township by providing an inviting environment consisting of informational, cultural, educational, and recreational resources supporting lifelong learning.

Every donation is greatly appreciated. With your gift, the library can continue to purchase thoughtful and engaging materials for our collection, provide fun and educational programs for the patrons of our district, and promote literacy efforts in our community.

Please contact the library’s Administration office (618-462-0677) for more information about donating to The Hayner Public Library District.  We thank you for your generosity.
