Finding information online can be overwhelming, and finding trustworthy information even more so. Hayner Library
offers over fifty educational online resources—available at home or in the library—to help students, teachers, and
curious people learn and explore without all the uncertainty.

Not sure where to start? We recommend two of these resources, Explora and Britannica Library, as learning launchpads.
Explora lets you search through thirty academic databases, separately or all at once, in one user-friendly interface. If
you’ve used any common search engine, you’ll find that Explora looks and feels familiar, with the added certainty that
the information you find is trustworthy. For broader searches, Explora will provide a “Topic Overview” in addition to
the search results to help you get started. You can also browse popular topics, save individual articles or entire searches,
and organize your research into project folders to help you stay on track.

Britannica Library is an online encyclopedia containing comprehensive information for all ages. With four separate
experiences–Young Children, Children, Young Adults, and Reference Center–anyone can find easy-to-use, trusted
information at their fingertips. Because it’s online, articles can be updated at any time to keep pace with our fastmoving world. You’ll also find features that aren’t possible with a print encyclopedia, such as instantly translating an
article to another language, listening to an article, watching videos, viewing related articles and links, and playing
interactive games. To help you with your research projects, Britannica Library offers a “Ready for Research” step-bystep research guide and “How-Tos” for different kinds of projects.
