The Hayner Walking Book Club is back for 2023! The club launched last spring, blending the joy of walking with book discussions. The Walking Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month, April through October, for about an hour. Members meet at a walking trail or park for a book discussion and then a walk. At each meeting, titles and walking locations are chosen for the next month’s walk with the help of our club moderator. Our walks are paced to allow for both exercise and good conversations. The Alton/Godfrey area offers us many beautiful parks and trails for our walks, such as The Nature Institute, Riverfront Park, Gordon Moore Park, Audubon Center at Riverlands, and Glazebrook Park.
If reading, walking, nature, and good conversation sound like a perfect fit for you, please consider joining us. Our first meeting is Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 12 pm, at Glazebrook Park. We will meet at the pavilion to make reading selections and walk the trail.
Registration is required for the Hayner Walking Book Club. The registration form is available by clicking on the “Contact” tab and at the Downtown Library or Hayner Library at Alton Square Mall.
