Genealogy Lecture: The Chatillon-DeMenil House with Bill Stanard

February 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Constructed between 1851 and 1876, the Chatillon-DeMenil House illustrates the story of Franco-American, Creole culture during the Civil War, turn-of-the-century, and Roaring 20s eras in St. Louis. De Lor, Chatillon, Chouteau, and DeMenil, all names familiar to historians of the Louisiana Province of New France, figure prominently in the cultural life of the Gateway to the West.

Veteran, teacher, craftsman, sailor, and writer, Bill Stanard dedicated his career to teaching English and computer science, as well as spending countless hours building boats, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow artisans. He lives and works in St. Louis, and is the Executive Director of the Chatillon-DeMenil House.
